Scientific Origin of Soup

Creation of SOUP
It is very unclear when soup was created, but evidence traces it back to 20,000 BC. Before boiling was a common cooking technique, we used animal hides and watertight baskets of bark or reeds as a bowl and to contain the almighty soup within.
The Word of SOUP
The word soup comes from the French SOUPE which means soup
or broth. That comes from Vulgar Latin, from a Germanic source, SUPPA, which means "bread soaked in broth." from which also comes the word SOP, a piece of bread used to soak up soup or a thick stew.
Commercial SOUP
With the invention of canning in the 19th Century, commercial Soup became very popular. One of best and most well-known Soup companies being Campbell. One of their chemist, Doctor John T. Dorrance, invented Condensed Soup. This allowed Soup to be packaged into a smaller can and sold at a lower price . Campbell's 3 most popular Soups in America are Cream of Mushroom, Chicken Noodle, and tomato.
